Finders and Youngberg will be putting on a three hour workshop for those who play string instruments on Saturday. Bill Powers, of Sweet Sunny South, will be giving a songwriting workshop on Sunday, August 8. So buy your tickets, bring your instrument and come have a good time.

For more information, and to sign up early and reserve your spot, please call GapWest Broadcasting at 307-266-5252 and ask for Michelle or Jana. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you there.

Your Instructors are:

Erin Youngberg...plays the bass. Ironically, she is the youngest, yet has the most experience of the group. She started performing in her daddy's bluegrass band when she was 9 yrs. old in Jackson, WY. "E" also sings and contributes on the songwriting front. She played with Uncle Earl for one year and recorded the bass parts on their 2007 release. Erin hunts elk.

Aaron Youngberg…plays banjo and pedal steel. He is the proud owner & engineer at Swingfingers Recording Studio in Fort Collins, CO. "Double A" engineered, produced and mixed “Keep Your Suitcase Packed." Aaron sometimes plays with other country and honkytonk bands in the Fort Collins area. Mr. Youngberg is an expert snowboarder and pen-flipper.

Mike Finders…has played guitar since he was 7 yrs. old, growing up in the middle of Iowa. He also plays harmonica, sings, and writes songs. Mike has won the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at Merlefest twice :: bluegrass category in 2004, and gospel category in 2005 and yet he still gets mentioned last. He likes to do dishes...and used to be a ninja.
wers - Mandolin and Banjo

Bill Powers… as the Main songwriter in the group, Sweet Sunny South, Bill Draws from his Mississippi upbringing. Although he grew up around a variety of music, he didn’t start playing the guitar until college. He was originally inspired by Jerry Garcia and playing the Grateful Dead songs, with his friends at UT, Austin. After moving to Colorado, music became a bigger part of Bill’s life and resulted in a variety of bands including rock-n-roll, world-beat and finally, bluegrass.

Headlining Band

This year’s headline act is Patty Loveless. Always, Patty Loveless connects. Going heart to heart with her listeners, she sings their joys and sorrows. She connects to the ache or tenderness of each song's lyrics and she takes the connection back - all the way to the soul of country music. Born and bred country, Patty lives that soul, and with Dreamin' My Dreams she again makes it real. "That title reminds me of how I first felt when I came to Nashville," Patty says, "I felt I was living my dreams." With this remarkable album, the dream continues. The beauty Patty achieves in her recordings is a natural kind, nothing contrived or forced. "I feel much more confident these days in the way I approach a song," says Loveless. "On my last few records, I've just let myself feel a sense of freedom and trust. I've made a lot of records and I feel fortunate to be able to continue making them. So now I think, 'I just want to flow with it. Enjoy it.'" On Dreamin' My Dreams, the joy is infectious. With a crew of the industry's finest musicians and Emory Gordy, Jr. and Justin Niebank at the production helm, Patty "flows with it" on a stellar successor to 2003's On My Way Home and her finest work, from When Fallen Angels Fly to the groundbreaking Mountain Soul. They're an intimate gift, really. A gift of a singer who's been there - and will continue. Patty puts it simply, from the heart: "If I can just be a little part of touching lives through music, that's wonderful. It's something I've always wanted to do. Just like the people who touched my life."
